Review of Flyers & Program Info for Science Journalism Internship Program
We are nearly ready to start the Science Journalism program. James has completed the File:Marspedia Intership Program Flyer.pdf to present to University internship program owners.
Frank, Bruce and Susan Holden Martin have all offered to contact Universities on our behalf. They can begin immediately to reach out, and can mention that we are doing a soft launch "Pilot" until January, where people can join our weekly meeting to check out what we are doing, then apply & begin the internships in January.
We are going to start with 7 schools:
MIT - Bruce https://ksj.mit.edu/resources/
Johns Hopkins (MD) - Susan http://advanced.jhu.edu/academics/graduate-degree-programs/science-writing/
Columbia (NYC) - Susan https://journalism.columbia.edu/science
UC Santa Cruz - Frank https://scicom.ucsc.edu/

Review of Needed Articles sheet
We reviewed the progress of the Needed Articles Spreadsheet which the entire Editorial Subcommittee is working on.
The intent of the spreadsheet is to capture all the article ideas we've had in the course of creating our new Category Hierarchy, and to come up with any new ideas in looking at each category. The spreadsheet is organized with all the categories in column A, and columns B-C-D and beyond can be used for ideas for articles or article groups. Anybody is free to add to this spreadsheet.
This is ready for a prioritized list of Needed Articles to be added to the sheet (as tab #2) which James will begin work on. Then we'll update the Needed Articles page on the wiki. This will also be the source of work assignments for editorial team members and interns to improve the wiki long-term.
=Trello Board Review
We reviewed & discussed the other items on our Trello board.
Jim LeFavre agreed to update our Mars article and we discussed how he can get started.
Action Items for Next Week
- James to update the wiki with program info.
- Everybody to continue adding to Needed Articles Spreadsheet.
- Jim LeFavre to work on Mars article.
